Previously, I posted how to play AVI file and Srt file using Mplayer..Now I discover an easy way to play it by using VLC Media Player..Its so easy..Download it at Free Downloads (on the right side of this page) and Install it..Go to File > Open File.. Then select the movie file and the subtitle file..
Have you came across a problem where you have an avi file separately with subtitle file that using .srt extension? So how to play the avi movie together along with the .srt file? Its so easy..what you need are these software. Mplayer and and Directvobsub codec. Mplayer is a movie player that are compatible to almost all OS and can play many type of movie file. Directvobsub is a codec that allow you to play the subtitle (.srt) together with the movie. Here are the steps:
a) Download the Mplayer and Directvobsub at Free Downloads section at the right side of this page and install it.
b) Put the avi file and .srt file in the same folder.
c) Open Mplayer. Right click on Mplayer console and choose Open and select the movie you want to watch. Then right click again on the console and select Open Subtitle. Select the .srt file.
And then enjoy the movie. The movie will be automatically played together with the subtitles.
Learn the basic reading and listening abilities of English.
Spend at least one hour everyday listening to news or discussion programs such in radio or television. It's hard to understand what they are saying when you first begin to listen to them, but gradually you'll get used to the speed and tone. Then you can get a brief idea of what they are talking about, although you can't get the detail. You don't need to listen to the radio for an whole hour at once. It's best to spend twenty or thirty minutes on listening separately.
Listening the the music in another best way to improve your vocabulary and listening skills.
Spend more than three hours every day on reading English news or articles. Reading builds up your vocabulary, idioms, phrases, and the concepts of English structures. If you do enough reading, it will save you a lot of time since you will not need to spend more time on building your vocabulary or grammar. Read out loud (important) when you do your reading so that you can improve your pronunciation at the same time.
Learn the phonetic alphabet (pronunciation symbols). This can help you pronounce correctly, and it's necessary to speak with the correct tone if you want to make some friends with native English speakers. This is a big deal for non-native English speakers.
Make some pen pals and write them at least once everyday. The best way to improve your writing is to practice writing as much as you can. The more you write the more you know how to use what you've learned from reading and listening.
Make friends with native-English speakers. This is the most difficult task because of the difference in culture, but you can't really master English unless you can communicate with a native English speaker fluently. You have to know enough things and have good listening skills if you want to have good conversations with an American or Briton. Remember to ask a lot of questions to keep the conversation going. When someone asks you a question, give more than just the basic information. For example, if someone asks you "Do you like living here?" don't just answer "Yes" or "No," but tell them why, too.
Watch some English TV. TV is the best and most inexpensive teacher to learn real English. Not only you can learn formal English from news or debate TV programs, but you can also learn everyday English from soap operas and sitcoms. Be careful because too much jargon or too many idioms make your speech ambiguous.
Try listening to the Radio. Radio is also one of the best and inexpensive English teachers. Because there is no picture, you cannot lip read. You must train your ear to listen.
Use an English-English dictionary and bring your dictionary wherever you go. If you find some words that you don't know, look them up in your dictionary immediately.
Use your newly-learned idioms or vocabulary. Once you use the words which you memorized, you will never forget them again.
Think in English. Getting used to using English all the time will make it easier to listen and react with it. And maybe you could train yourself to dream in English..Hehehe..
There are videos that use .001 extension. Those videos cant be played just like that using Window Media Player or Winamp or any other player.So how to play it? Follow these instructions:
Download HjSplit. HjSplit is a file splitting program for Windows XP, Vista, 2000, NT, 95, 98, ME. HJSplit is able to split files of any type and any size as well as merge it back.
This software doesn't need to be install. Just run it.
Select Join. Then at Input File column, browse for the video.
Leave the output file as it will be filled up automatically.
Then click Start. When it is done, a video file will appear in the same directory where you place the .001 file.
Then just play it with any compatible player such as Windows Media Player, Real Player and etc.
Megavideo is a new online video sharing site based out of Hong Kong. It is claimed that they can beat Youtube. I already watched the movies in megavideo website and found that it is quite interesting. Similar to Youtube, you can upload, watch and embeded the video into your website or blog.
However, since Megavideo is still new, there are no hacking software to download the video compared to Youtube. There are many software used to download Youtube videos (Read my previous posts), but how to download Megavideo video? Here I'll give you the instructions how to download the videos from Megavideo.(Use Internet Explorer)
Refresh your pc by right clicking on your desktop and refresh.
Open Internet Explorer again.
Go to Tools > Internet Options. In General tab, find browsing history. Select Settings and then Temporary Internet Files & History Setting window will appeared.
Click on View Files and then a windows like this will appeared (See this).
Scroll down until you find a file with a long title name (See this).
Copy that file and paste it into your pc.
Rename it with whatever name you want and very IMPORTANT put .flv extension after the name. Example funny.flv
Then it is done. Play it with FLV Player. If you don't have it, download it at my Free Download Section (Right side of this page).
To make it easier, delete all the files in Temporary Internet Files before you start to do all steps given above. Temporary Internet Files also could be open by searching it in your pc. Go to Start>Search. Find folder name Temporary Internet Files.
