How To Play Video With .001 extension
There are videos that use .001 extension. Those videos cant be played just like that using Window Media Player or Winamp or any other player.So how to play it? Follow these instructions:
Ok Have a try and tell me if you have problem.
- Download HjSplit. HjSplit is a file splitting program for Windows XP, Vista, 2000, NT, 95, 98, ME. HJSplit is able to split files of any type and any size as well as merge it back.
- This software doesn't need to be install. Just run it.
- Select Join. Then at Input File column, browse for the video.
- Leave the output file as it will be filled up automatically.
- Then click Start. When it is done, a video file will appear in the same directory where you place the .001 file.
Ok Have a try and tell me if you have problem.

Oh yea ... i found it. Use Total Commander and press enter on .001 and it will united the parts (choose target directory). Its not compressed and have no (.exe) file to initiate. So the parts will united from .001 .002 .003 and so on.
P.S: You can also use Joiner or JoinerSplitterPro.

That doesn't work for the .001,.002,files etc . I have tried as per ur suggestion but no result!!
Just use Gom player.this player plays such files as it is.No need to join and do all those shits

I have downloaded a movie which consist of 14 parts each of 100MB with extensions of .001, .002..... .014. I tried to join these files using HJSplit. First 11 parts have been joined successfully and i can also play them but HJSplit does not include the last 3 parts in the joining process. HJSplit does not report any kind of error. I m unable to find the cause of this problem. Would anyone plz tell me that how can i get rid of this problem an join all 14 files to form a single file. Any help in this regard is more than welcome.

I have even tried to play these files using GOM Player but it is not playing these files as well
Atlast I m able to solve my problem myself :). Actually before using HJSplit, plz make sure that name of all the files(that need to be merged) MUST be same except for the extension(.001, .002 etc.) bcoz if file names are different from the *.001 file, HJSplit will not be able to locate these files, hence these files will not be merged in the single file.

no, none of this is working. i tried everything.

alliance-shm1-xvid.003
alliance-shm1-xvid.004
alliance-shm1-xvid.005
.....
and so on til 49
hj split doesn't work.. after two times repeating the procedure (cause from one nothing's happening) it creates a joined file that ca not be opened with anything...
help out plese

DON'T GO THROUGH ALL THIS TROUBLE. I had the same problem as you, just download VLC media player. Use google to find the OFFICIAL website and dl it from there. hope this helps...
